ALL IN – 2019 & BEYOND

As most of you, who read our blog, know, January is praying for our word for the year.  This is something that we have done for almost five years. It is exciting to see from the last five years how much God is showing me each year.  It is definitely moving forward in my relationship with Him.

This is a year I got the special privilege of two words.  My sister-in-law and I, gifted each other with a word for the year, as well.  It was a great Christmas present to both of us, our God-appointed words for each other.

She and I prayed that God would give each of us this gift for each other.  He did.  As she mentioned in the last blog, I gifted her the words piece and peace.  I didn’t know what that would entail, but God did.

The word that will define this year that my sister-in-law gave me from God, is “Healing”.  A very appropriate word concerning the events that happened last year. Don’t get me wrong, there were a lot of good things that happened last year.  However, it was a tough year.

Another word, that is just as important for this year, is the word that God gave me, God gave me, IN, as in ALL IN.  It is a very encompassing word, and it will be interesting to see what God does and how He shows up in every area of my life.

ALL IN, that is my theme going forward.  It is my word for the year 2019, but it is so much more than that. It is what I want to be with God, ALL IN.  Not just partial in, or when it suits me, but ALL IN.

Healing, and All In, these two go together quite well.  Thank you, God. It will be fun to see how these words come to life in my life.  Again, it will be amazing to see how God shows up.

I hope that you listen and allow God to show you how He wants the theme for this year, and how He is going to show up in your lives.  This year let’s try and make prayer a priority and listen to what God has for each one of us.

There are so many distractions, and I know that I have gotten sidetracked.  This is a new year.  I can’t change the past, but I can look to the future, and look to God for continual guidance, and help.

I have the words for this year, 2019.  There is something I want to add to the list. One of the devotionals I read was about what word will you NOT choose this year.  So, what word will you not choose this year?

For me, I am choosing fear as my word not to use this year.  Instead, I am choosing, as part of being ALL IN, to trust God in, and what He says is true.  I trust that when He gives me a mission, then He will equip me.  This means that I trust, and if I question, then I turn to God and the Bible for answers.

It also means moving forward in faith.  There are times that I fear so much, that I feel stuck, and can’t move forward.  This year, I am moving forward in faith and trust in God that He will be my guide.

With the words, ALL IN and HEALING to define this year, there is no room for fear. For me, fear is another word for lack of trust in God.  I will not give the devil that benefit.  My firm trust in God will prevail.  He will keep moving me forward through our journey, as long as I don’t dig in my heels, and stop moving at all.

Yet, if I do that, God is right there waiting for me.  He is a quiet whisper that is there.  When we face our giants, He is there.  Through the moving forward, backward, or side to side-God is there.  He will NEVER leave us.

I pray that each of you keeps your focus on God.  He loves each one of us so much.  No matter our past, what we have done, or our circumstances, God loves us and has a plan for us. If only, we allow Him.

Dear Poppa God,
I pray that this year, You will fill each of us to overflowing with You.  Each person reading this needs you, we ALL need you.  May each of us look to you, and may fear not be in our vocabulary, when it comes to You.  Thank you for being there, all ways.  You are ALL IN.
In Jesus name, Amen.
